My congratulations to all people whoâ™re crazy about RC cars: at last the sun is shining and birds are singing and weâ™ve got more free time to spend at racing track. What can be better than summer?!
The new racing season and the 1st round of the Open Ukrainian Championship began May 21, 2005 in a town called Cherkasy. Approximately 80 modelists from all over Ukraine came to take a part in the challenge for the title of Champion. The competition was held in several different classes, including RCE-10, Touring cars (stock, modified & gas-powered) and 1/8(Serpent).

The most competitive (and highest amount of entries) was electric touring cars, with racers using many different kinds of modern cars and equipment. Starting from the qualification sessions, there was no doubt that XRAY racers were going to take the leading positions. In Modified class, the battle unraveled between representatives of teams from towns Khnelnitsky (Anton Buga) and Mykolaiv (Evgeniy Brazhko). The pole position was taken by Anton and he won the 1st final round, but Evgeniy pursued him and won the 2nd round. Unfortunately for Anton, his car crashed and he lost his competitive edge in the 3rd round.
The same Evgeniy and his rivals from other teams headed the Stock class. But despite this, Antonâ™s team won the competition between teams. During this event, XRAY cars dominated the racetrack and the drivers could show very good results. Good luck guys, and see you next time in Khmelnitsky for the 2nd round of Championship!
